The Leader in Terminals and Logistic Yards.
The “Wiesel” Swap Body Lifting Truck from KAMAG:
KAMAG Transporttechnik GmbH & Co. KG is presenting the latest generation of the “Wiesel” at the transport logistic 2009 in Munich. As one of the most powerful special vehicles for moving swap bodies in logistic yards, it has become the leading vehicle solution for demanding endurance use. Under the motto “Swap to Profit” KAMAG is informing operators at the transport logistic how they can bring even more profitability and efficiency to their yard logistics with the Wiesel.
The latest series driver’s cabin from the ATEGO range by Daimler offers the driver a comfortable, ergonomically designed workstation. All control elements are arranged clearly and are at the driver’s fingertips. The low-set cabin is designed with a safe and effortless mount and dismount in mind, which is an unbeatable advantage when you are constantly leaving the cabin (to open or close doors of swap bodies etc.). All functions are designed efficiently to be operated by one person.
The diesel engine (Euromot 3A) is also from Daimler’s series range. The large steering angle of 48 degrees makes the Wiesel extremely flexible and gives it car-like manoeuvrability. The changeover frequency per hour achieved with the Wiesel underlines the efficiency of the vehicle concept.
An extensive range of additional fittings allows the operator to configure “his Wiesel” according to application-specific requirements.
The optional, hydraulic lifting and lowering fifth wheel to shunt semi-trailers can now be pneumatically released by remote control from the driver's seat in the Wiesel. The total travel of up to 1,350 mm facilitates transport of all standard semitrailer models from the standard to the volume trailer, without having to attach support feet. Swivel and central axle trailers can be pulled and shunted using the automatic trailer coupling (optional) on the rear. The visibility from the driver’s cabin offers optimum support for this application.
An ABS socket (optional) guarantees control of the trailer brakes during shunting operations. The already well-reduced maintenance work on the Wiesel can be reduced still further by a central lubrication device (optional). Air conditioning (optional) is available for the driver’s workstation, which produces an optimum indoor temperature.
The snow plough blade for winter service is a new equipment option. This extra equipment can be ordered during the transport logistic 2009.
The Wiesel can easily be approved in accordance with StVZO (road traffic regulations) for use on public roads.
"Swap to Profit” – the motto under which KAMAG is presenting the Wiesel, refers to the profitability that the swap body lifting truck offers its operator as standard.
Long maintenance intervals of 1,000 operating hours come as standard with the Wiesel, thanks to the almost wear-free, hydrostatic drive. The low service needs are supported by the use of large series components while parts and fuel consumption is less than 5 litres per operating hour. Thus, the Wiesel is indispensable for any logistic yard or terminal where efficient container turnaround is a requirement of profitable yard logistics.
