Nicolas wind blade transport.

SCHEUERLE Fahrzeugfabrik GmbH, NICOLAS Industrie SAS and KAMAG Transporttechnik GmbH & Co. KG belong to a unique group of companies owned by the Heilbronn entrepreneur Otto Rettenmaier. The TII Group is a global leader in developing and manufacturing top class heavy goods vehicles and stands for advanced transport technology at the highest level. For several years now, the TII Group has brought together the experience and tradition of each of the three companies getting a strong synergy between them and substantial developments into the transportation industry.
Ingenious and reliable solutions have been implemented in all sectors of activity of each company: road transport, heavy-duty transport, internal logistics, shipyard as well as steelwork industry and special applications.

Let’s see some of the product developments of each company of the TII Group:

NICOLAS will exhibit one 4 axle MDEL 1550 module. This lightweight modular trailer has specially been designed to get the maximum payload on Italian roads thanks to the distance between axles, increased to 1.550 mm. All MDEL modules are equipped with ABS braking system and are allowed to run up to 62.5 km/h. MDEL series modules are available in 2750 and 2500 mm width and can be supplied with the full range of Nicolas modular accessories. Exclusive feature for lightweight modular trailers: side-by-side coupling possibility which gives the MDEL modules a further application in industrial moves.

The transport of components for wind power stations belongs to the special challenges faced by heavy load hauliers: nacelles, tower sections and blades can be easily transported anywhere thanks to the TII Group equipment. For example, transporting lightweight and extremely long rotor blades is similar to the handling of raw eggs. Additionally, nacelles with high weights often have to be delivered over long distances to remote and difficult-to-access construction sites. Special adapters designed to be connected to NICOLAS modular trailers can transport generators with a weight up to 140 tonnes; special adapters for 200 tonnes generators will be available soon. A wide range of other combination vehicles from the NICOLAS and SCHEUERLE heavy-load range are available to transport nacelles of different weight classes. Depending on the dimensions and weight, vehicle combinations can be configured that accurately match the transportation task in hand.

For logistic yards the KAMAG “Wiesel” Swap Body Lifting Truck has become the leading vehicle solution. Under the motto “Swap to Profit”, KAMAG is presenting its clients how they can bring even more profitability and efficiency to their yard logistics with the “Wiesel”. The optional, hydraulic liftable / lowerable fifth wheel for moving semi-trailers can be pneumatically uncoupled by remote control from the driver´s cab of the Wiesel. The overall lift height of up to 1,350 mm allows the transport of all standard semi-trailer types from normal to high volume trailers without having to crank up the landing legs. With the automatic trailer coupling (optional) at the rear, central axle and turning steering frame trailers can also be moved.

An additional transport solution of the wide KAMAG product range is the Terminal Tractor “TruckWiesel”. Since the beginning of the serial production of the Terminal Tractor a lot of these special trucks are already in operation with great success. The powerful, hydrostatically transmission of the “TruckWiesel” provides tangible advantages compared to similar conventional vehicles. With this concept for terminal tractors, KAMAG is continuing a trend which is increasingly demanded for in-plant transportation. Then, in the meanwhile it has been proven that a special truck is economically superior compared to a conventional tractor. The well thought-out mixture of serial production components with elements of the special vehicle construction, provide decisive advantages: highest levels of functionality and reliability in daily operations and the great resilience of the vehicle parts developed by KAMAG.

To provide an extremely flexible concept for all road transportation requirements as well as all kind of special transportation needs, the SCHEUERLE product range offers a multitude of possibilities. SCHEUERLE Combi series for example has proven itself in daily operations time and time again. Public roads always challenge heavy goods transporters. Tight bends, narrow lanes, and busy motorways pose problems. The modular construction system allows the vehicles to be combined in numerous ways and the extensive range of accessories means that each individual transportation assignment can be carried out as cost-effectively as possible.

If the challenge is extreme, SCHEUERLE SPMTs (self-propelled modular transporters) are the ideal solution. Thanks to the unrestrained manoeuvrability of the SPMT, narrow passes, such as you find when transporting through villages and cities, can be passed through without difficulty even with the heaviest loads. Already in operation by the most important companies in the world,  SCHEUERLE SPMT have become the benchmark in this business.

Whether it is SCHEUERLE, NICOLAS or KAMAG equipment, each vehicle delivered by the companies of the TII Group is backed up by a consistent technical support, an absolute reliable service and availability of spare parts around the globe.
