SARENS transports biggest-ever railway bridge
A huge steel bridge was recently shifted by SARENS (as reported) on a total of 244 axle lines of a KAMAG K24 heavy-duty transporter on a Dutch motorway. Weighing 8,400 tonnes, the 255 metre long, 17 metre wide and 50 metre high railway bridge is the heaviest and longest structure of this type which had ever been transported by road. In use for the first time: a wireless data connection between the SPMT vehicle groups which faciltated trouble-free operations for the SARENS team. A length of 400 metres was required to position the bridge over the motorway. See the live stream from 7th May as the bridge was gradually placed on the bridge foundations.
